This meet was one you did not want to miss it came down to the free relays in the Opens and the 8 & unders. The Piranhas traveled to Hazelton High School on Saturday January 3rd for a meet with the Hazelton YMCA. Even though we were missing all of our high school swimmers the Girls team put up a great fight only loosing the meet by 7 points in the 8 & unders and 7 points in the Open Girls age groups. It was so tight that both teams were not sure until it was over who won it for the girls. There were many personal best times and great swims in the meet.
The boys team has a much easier time with a 4-1 win over the HAZY boys only losing the 8 & under boys. The Girls are now 3-1 and the Boys are 4-0. If the boys win this weekend they will be undefeated and if the girls win they will share the league title with HAZY who lost to Tri-Valley and Tri-Valley who have not yet lost.
The 2nd year in a row the Piranhas won the Team High Point trophy at the GREATER SCRANTON YMCA STINGRAYS HOLIDAY CLASSIC on Saturday December 27th. The cold weather did not cool down the fire that the Piranhas had going at the meet. With 7 out of 12 individual high point trophies won by Piranhas it was not hard to guess the team trophy was going to the Piranhas. The meet was a great meet with over 70 personal best times, 16 meet records broken, 1 team record and 48 first place finishes and numerous top 6 finishes.
